Pieternel Fleskens

Pieternel Fleskens is 26 jaar en sinds augustus 2008 werkzaam voor de Universiteit Maastricht. Zij is junior onderzoeker, geeft onderwijs en werkt voor de Universitaire Beeldende Kunst- en Erfgoedcommissie. Naast medewerker is Pieternel ook alumna. Nadat zij haar bachelor Algemene cultuurwetenschappen behaalde aan de Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen verhuisde ze naar Maastricht om aan onze universiteit de master ‘Cultuurbeleid, behoud- en beheer’ te volgen.

Ik ben Michelle Spaen. Ik ben 21 jaar en begin technisch gezien aan mijn vierde studiejaar op de SBE (international business economics). Met een major in finance en het oog op banking mag ik redelijk ambitieus genoemd worden. Studeren is belangrijk, maar eerst … BARCELONA. Zes maanden in het zonnige zuiden gaan mij hopelijk geluk, vreugde en heel veel lol brengen. Mijn vriendinnen noemen me tuttig en ik zal dan ook hoog gehakt Catalonië bewandelen. In plaats van de slopende weg naar de nodige 26 studiepunten, zal ik jullie vermaken met de zijstraatjes van mijn reis; het gemis van mijn (thuis blijvende) vriendje, mijn gigantische shopverslaving en mijn zwak voor hip ogende nachtclubs. Welkom in Spanje. Mi vida es fiesta!

Maarten Tilburgs is 23 jaar en studeert cultuurwetenschappen in Maastricht. Tijdens zijn 5de semester volgt hij lessen aan de Ajou Universiteit in Suwon, een stad in Zuid-Korea met ruim 1 miljoen inwoners, 20 km ten zuiden van Seoul. Hij woont samen met Koreaanse studenten en andere uitwisselingsstudenten op de campus van de Ajou Universiteit. Hoewel hij zijn vakken moet halen, kiest Maarten voor Zuid-Korea omdat hij graag andere culturen wil leren kennen en benieuwd is naar de raakvlakken met de Nederlandse cultuur.

I just spent two hours in a cramped and smelly copy shop to have a book copied. The annoying routine of opening and closing the lid of the machine and pressing the start button about 300 times is probably known to most of my fellow students.
