America for Dummies (aka Europeans)

I am Oliver Urbanowicz​, a second-year bachelor student of European Law, from San Diego, California, with a deep interest in law and government. Because American politics is such a common topic of discussion here, I get asked a lot of questions about what I think of current events. I’ve found that a lot of people here in Maastricht don’t have a full understanding of the more technical parts of American politics, so I started this column, America for Dummies (aka Europeans), to address certain current events in my homeland. Mostly it will just be my opinion, which I like to think is near the political center, but I hope, dear reader, to educate as well.
