- iOS, Android
It has been possible to look at works of art online for some time now, thanks to the Google Cultural Institute. Now there is also an app and Google has included, in addition to visual arts, various (parts of) performances. This enables you, for example, to experience a rehearsal of the Berliner Philharmoniker in a 360-degree video. Or a scene from Hamlet, played by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Just like on the website, you can use the app to virtually walk through art exhibitions. In a Google Street View setting, you can visit the J Paul Getty museum in Los Angeles. Wonders of the World, such as the Taj Mahal, can also be viewed in this way.
The app is not that much different from the Google Cultural Institute website, but it makes it just that little bit easier to spend your lunch break at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York rather than on Facebook.
