Now that the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer, there is more time to look at the stars. For those who would like to know what they are actually looking at, there is Ad Astra.

The app enables you to find the various constellations in its celestial chart. Users get information about the signs of the zodiac, the individual stars of which they are made up, and a detailed map of their position. These, by the way, look rather technical. The app is targeted at (and created by) amateur astronomers who have some knowledge of the field.

There is a free version of the app, but if you want to get down to business seriously, it is recommended to download the professional version for €0.99. The latter provides larger maps with the option of zooming in, a night view mode that prevents the bright light of your screen from blinding you when you are looking through the telescope, and the possibility of recording your own observations.
