MAASTRICHT. Maastricht University has climbed two places in the top ten of the Times Higher Education 150 Under 50 ranking. Having been in sixth place in the young universities rankings three years in a row, the UM is now at number four. THE published its figures today.
First place is for the Swiss École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Places two, three, five and six go to Hong Kong, Singapore and Korea. The UM does so well because of its research, its international orientation and its strong ties with the industry, THE states. Maastricht is the only Dutch university on this list.
In the World University Rankings of the past year, all thirteen Dutch universities have reached the top 250. Maastricht appears in the top 100, in place 88.
