When storytellers become activists

When storytellers become activists

Photographer:Fotograaf: Story-Line

MAASTRICHT. How do storytellers relate to current pressing issues? When and why do writers, filmmakers and artists become activists? That’s the theme of the fourth Story-Line event, this Saturday in Lumiere Cinama. The English programme includes writers Priya Basil and Olumide Popoola, a short lecture about the documentary Bueys by film critic and philosopher Dana Linssen and an interview with artist Micha Leinkauf. He’s part of the artist duo Wermke/Leinkauf who became famous when they replaced the American flags on the Brooklyn Bridge with white flags in 2014.

There is also a Dutch programme. This includes an interview with writer Adriaan van Dis, journalist Claire van Dyck and filmmaker Beri Shalmashi.

Speak! – Activism in Storytelling | Saturday 21 April | 19.30hrs | Lumiere Cinema | Tickets: 15 euro (students: 8 euro) |
