MAASTRICHT. Four candidates for the presidency of the European Commission will come together for the first European Presidential Debate on Monday 28 April in the Theater aan het Vrijthof. Jean-Claude Juncker (European People’s Party), Martin Schulz (Party of European Socialists), Guy Verhofstadt (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party) and Ska Keller (European Green Party) will answer questions from young Europeans and discuss key issues on the future of Europe, such as unemployment, education and young people’s engagement in politics. The debate will start at 19.00 in front of an audience of 700 students from Maastricht University and other institutions. It will also be broadcast live around the world – in thirteen languages – on Euronews and in a livestream at www.eudebate2014.eu.
