MAASTRICHT. Over 200 students and entrepreneurs come together at the Maastricht Week of Entrepreneurship (MeWeek) from 14 until 16 May, the theme of which is Superheroes. “The evening program features inspiring talks by entrepreneurs from all over the world and during the day, we are organizing workshops covering key entrepreneurial skills”, says organizer Ana Mihail.
On the second day, there will also be a Pitch Competition. Thirty start-ups will compete to gain the inverstors’ interest and investment. “Each investor will have a set amount of “Monopoly” money to spend on the startups and the one that gains most funds wins. The team will then be able to also present their story on the big stage at our evening event. And of course one of the investors might want to invest real money into the company.”
Mihail herself looks very much forward to the speech of Kyle MacDonald. “A few years back he had to plan to exchange a red paperclip for other things until he would get a house. And he actually succeeded. His story is told many times in our Entrepreneurship courses at the Maastricht Centre for Entrepreneurship, so it will be exiting to meet him in person.”
