MAASTRICHT. Those who order writing materials at aGreenStory, a webshop started by University College Maastricht student Yağmur Masmas, are now able to pick the order up for free at the Green Office. Masmas started a shop with sustainable study materials in high school. Last year she expended to a webshop, which was nominated for the ASN Bank Worldaward, an award for initiatives that make a difference. Currently she aims to make aGreenStory known at universities, together with co-founder and UM-alumnus Sander van Attekum. “I have had contact with Green Offices at several universities to start pick up points. This way, students do not have to pay shipping costs. There are already concrete plans for a pick up point at Amsterdam University College.”
For Green Office Maastricht, collaboration was a logical step. Team member Lola Nacke: “Supporting students who start sustainable projects is exactly our goal.” According to Masmas, both the webshop and the Green Office gain exposure this way. “Students who did not know them before now come by because of the pick up point and vice versa.”
Recently, aGreenStory was selected for YSocialBusiness, a six month program during which young entrepreneurs with social initiatives are coached by experts.
