Forks over Knives Cooking/health/practical Free Android, iOS
Apple users may already be familiar with recipe app Forks over Knives, but the app was recently made available for Android too. A documentary of the same name came out in 2011, arguing in favour of a whole-food, plant-based diet with as few animal products and highly refined foods as possible. This could help prevent Western diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Its makers decided to create this app because of the large number of enthusiastic reactions to the documentary.
Approximately twenty chefs uploaded 180 healthy and often vegan recipes. New recipes are added every week. Each dish has a step-by-step explanation of its preparation. Users can add their own notes to the recipes and save their favourites. The list of ingredients can be copied to a shopping list, to which other items can be added later. Tips can be exchanged with other users.
