Drug abuse, depression, or the loss of an important person in your life – these are all nasty things to deal with. On the positive side, they have proven to lead to exceptional songs. And Coparck frontman Odilo Girod has found another appalling source of inspiration: insomnia. He spent his sleepless nights writing electronic and acoustic songs about his inability to fall asleep, his late-night but live dreams and his alienation from reality. How would you feel if your life was a continuous dream you could not wake up from? Girod’s music, which has been described as a “feast for the senses”, will provide the answer.
His performance is normally a one-man project, but his show Chopwood in Maastricht will receive musical support from Jelte Heringa (Most Unpleasant Man), Finn Kruyning (Moss) and Martijn Grootendorst (Moss).
