This year's Ragweek has raised 21,500 euros. There is an upward trend in the amount raised during Ragweek: in 2007, it was 15 thousand euros and in 2008 almost 17 thousand euros. Last year, a peak was reached, with a record amount of 31,500 euros for two good causes. This great result was mainly because of a sponsored walk held by fifteen Maastricht primary schools.
From 15 to 22 April, university students and staff, as well as private citizens organised all kinds of activities for the Maastricht Ronald McDonald House and the Ariana Study Fund for Afghan women. The bachelor auction by the sororities Darfinkar and Bon’Aparte in Cliniq pub raised most: more than 2,000 euros. Ragweek board member Denise Moerland: “Bon’Aparte auctioned themselves. A fraternity offered as much as 280 euros for their pole dancing course.”
