If you want to integrate more into Dutch student life, you might want to visit one of these upcoming events, hosted by the four biggest student associations.
On Saturday 12 June, rowers from all over the Netherlands will come to Maastricht to battle it out at the Fortis Maas Regatta, organised by rowing club Saurus. Boats with four men and four women (the mixed eight) will race for 750 or 1500 metres at the Maastrichtse Watersport Club, Kanaaldijk 100. The race will start at 13.30. Admission is free.
The Academisch Eindfeest (party to celebrate the end of the academic year) by student society Koko will be held on Thursday 17 June at the Maastricht Music Hall. At this big cantus you can sing along with traditional party songs, accompanied by the Joost mag het weten-band, from 22.00–3.00. Tickets costs €3 and are available at various cafés. If you’re up for some more partying, you can go to the second annual Summer Deejays, organised by student association Circumflex on Friday 18 June from 16.00–23.00. Benny Rodrigues, MC Gee and many more will put on some great house and techno beats. The dance event will be held on the Griendpark near the Maas, close to the Maastricht Music Hall. Just before the holidays the floor of Nox, the pub of student association Tragos will be covered in several feet of bubbles from a foam machine. On Wednesday 30 June the association is organising a Foamparty, starting at midnight and at Kastanjelaan 66. There is no admission fee.
