Maastricht International Week starts at the beginning of October. Or rather: International Weeks, because for fifteen days the city will be dominated by the theme of internationalisation.
The initiator is the Maastricht city council; events vary from a Euregional meeting on sustainable building to a language congress on cultural differences and language barriers in the Euregion.
Maastricht University is also present, among others with the Catch that Coach career event on Friday, 8 October. Eighteen months ago, students boarded a train under the motto ‘Catch that Train’, this year they will travel to the Belgian capital by coach. On the way there, students and alumni can do some speed dating with representatives from various organisations and businesses, such as NATO, Google, Océ, and Henkel. This is followed by a network lunch in the UM’s historical building in Brussels. Registration is through UM Career Services.
There is also a special programme for foreign UM employees in the city hall on Tuesday, 12 October, called Cultural Introduction & International Staff Get-Together.
