Christmas in Maastricht is going to be magical this year. On Friday 3 December Magisch Maastricht, a programme with various activities all over town, will kick off with a spectacular show by the artists from Corpus Acrobatics at the Vrijthof. Ice-skating, Christmas markets, street theatre and music performances will all be on offer in the streets and squares of the historic city centre until 2 January. For the full programme, please visit www.vvvmaastricht.eu.
On Wednesday 8 December Mintzkov will be rocking the Muziekgieterij. In 2000, this Belgian band won Humo´s Rock Rally. On this night, they will present their new album `Rising Sun, Setting Sun'. Mintzkov plays easygoing pop-rock with nice guitar sounds and a good beat. The support act will be Limburg’s own singer/songwriter Bart Oostindië. Tickets cost €10 and are available at www.muziekgieterij.nl.
Until 15 December, artworks by twelve international artists inspired by the documenting of facts and images will be on show at the AINSI exhibition Opgetekend en Vastgelegd. Rogier Roeters, for instance, collected extraordinary films from YouTube, while Marijke van Overbeek gathered sound fragments of all languages that can be heard in the average Dutch city.
