Enjoy a dance performance between study books and pizza boxes, or join a drawing workshop while sitting on a beer crate. This, and more, will be possible during the fifth annual Stukafest on Tuesday 15 February. Stukafest is an abbreviation of Studentenkamerfestival (‘student room festival’), which means that for an entire evening, students in eleven Dutch cities will put their room at an artist’s disposal to perform in front of a small audience. Visitors can choose three favorite acts to attend, making every programme unique and individual. There will be half-hour breaks after every round, so that you have time to walk or cycle to the next room.
In Maastricht, fifteen acts are scheduled from 20.00, varying from theatre, dance, cabaret and music to poetry and a comic strip workshop. The bands BlueFisH and The Tunes will mount the stairs of student flats, as will comedian Eric Lampaert and many more. From 23.00, the festival will continue in Café Cliniq (Platielstraat), where cover band Robinson will perform late into the night.
Ready to sign on for your personally composed evening of culture? Tickets can be bought at the university’s Inner City Library or from 12.00 until 14.00 in the Randwyck mensa. See www.stukafest.nl for more information about the programme and tickets.
