You might want to search your closet for an orange outfit: 30 April is Queen’s Day in the Netherlands. Activities and parties will be held in Maastricht the entire weekend. The events kick off with MY-Day on the 29th, an ‘interactive, informative market’ in the park. That evening, several cover bands and DJs will also be playing in the park until midnight. As in many places elsewhere, Queen’s Day in Maastricht features a flea market on 30 April. The festival grounds also include two fully-booked music stages. The main stage will feature all kinds of performances, from a children’s concert to the Dutch band The Hype. Young, talented Dutch artists will be performing on the pop stage. Admission to the Queen’s Day festival is free of charge, so be sure to check www.maastrichtviert.nl to see what activities are in store for you.
