Whether there will only be mixed Inkom groups this year is still the subject of discussion.
Chairperson of the working group, Anne van Tetering, promised that it would be clarified next week. The mixed Inkom – so Dutch and foreign students mixed together – is under attack because the larger student associations feel that mixed groups often do not work and do not promote integration either. They break up more easily and this puts the idea of them being a gateway to association membership under pressure. The Inkom working group was always in favour of mixed groups, but promised to reconsider the matter at the beginning of this year. Van Tetering: “However, that does not mean that we go back to the old situation.”
