The Umbilical Brothers
The Umbilical Brothers bring a mixture of stand-up comedy, mime and acrobatics to the stage. Australians Shane Dundas and Dave Collins met in 1988 in Sydney, when Dave broke Shane’s nose during a jazz dance class. They’ve been appearing in TV comedies, holding stand-up gigs and making theatre shows ever since. On Wednesday 19 October they will perform Heaven by Storm in the Theater aan het Vrijthof. The show will start at 20.00; tickets cost €22.50. Check out www.umbilicalbrothers.com for more information.
Saving Art and Heritage
Restoration is essential for the preservation of our cultural heritage. How does it work? How can conservators use modern techniques to save old artworks? On Sunday 16 October, Studium Generale will start a series on this profession with a lecture by René Hopppenbrouwers, director of the Foundation Limburg Conservation Studios. The lecture will start at 11.00 in the Bonnefanten Museum. For more information, please check www.sg.unimaas.nl
