‘International students and their way of art’ is the theme of this year’s Open Day at the Bonnefantenmuseum on Sunday 20 November. The programme – called Showtime! – includes performances, guided tours and workshops. For instance, drama club Alles is Drama will perform a special play for the Open Day in the room showing the work of Sol LeWitt. For the full programme, please visit www.bonnefanten.nl.
Global Culture Festival
The fourth Global Culture Festival, organised by Studium Generale, will kick off on Thursday 24 November with Blind Note, a group of musicians from all parts of the world who play world music with traditional instruments. During the four days of the festival, there will be Italian and Arab music, an African night, Brazilian dance, films and an exhibition. For more information, please visit ww.maastrichtuniversity.nl/studiumgenerale
A dance performance is like a boxing match. Two dancers will step into the ring and challenge each other as brothers like to do. The tension rises round after round until one of them snaps. The dancers in Rocco (which was inspired by the movie Rocco e i suoi fratelli by Luchino Visconti) represent all aspects of brotherhood – the good and the bad. The performance will start at 20.30 on Saturday 19 November in the AINSI. For tickets, please visit www.ainsi.nl
