Stukafest, Holocaust Cantata and Redmond O'Hanlon


A student room offers a lot of possibilities, as Stukafest proves every year with its student room festival. Music and dance, poetry and comedy; it can all happen in approximately 12 m2. Stukafest will be held in Maastricht on Tuesday 7 February. The first of three rounds starts at 20.30; the last ends at 23.00. Almost all acts are accessible to English speaking students. No sad songs, please

During Holocaust Memorial Day on Saturday 4 February, the Kamerkoor (chamber choir) Maastricht will sing the Holocaust Cantata at their concert ‘No sad songs, please’. The Holocaust Cantata consists of songs composed by Donald McCullough based on texts and diaries saved from the concentration camps. The concert will be held in the St Martinuskerk in the Rechtstraat. It starts at 20.15; tickets cost €12.50. For more information, please visit


Darwin, Wallace and others

Travel author Alexander Reeuwijk and author/biologist Redmond O'Hanlon, known from the television series Beagle, in het kielzog van Darwin and O’Hanlon’s heroes, will take the audience on a journey through the history of evolution, using their book Darwin, Wallace and others.
