Nothing will change this year with regard to the instalment payments of tuition fees: students are expected to transfer an amount eight times a year, instead of the twelve monthly payments requested by the students in the university council.
But if someone gets into trouble, the university will try to find a solution. That was the result of the discussions in a special working group that was asked to solve this dispute between the university council and the Executive Board. It was agreed that developments would be monitored carefully so that the scale of the problem could be established. University Council chairman Herman Kingma: “It is unclear whether and how many students will be affected. Where it concerns international students there are enough among them who are rich enough to pay the tuition fees in one go.”
