SBE wins in Montréal

Two weeks ago, students from the School of Business and Economics won the ‘international case competition’ in Montréal. It is SBE’s fourth victory – after Bangkok, Copenhagen and Singapore. In a case competition, student teams have to solve a real-life business problem and prepare a presentation on the solution while being locked in a hotel room for 24 hours. The case concerned was a HRM problem for a consultancy company specialised in the global mining industry.

The team consisted of Kristina Brennecke, Fabian Leyhausen, Svenja Geisen and Nina Scherl, accompanied by coach en lecturer Sabine Janssen. “Our students were strong strategically and excelled in out-of-the-box thinking. They put forward original and bold solutions. The final presentation was sparkling, which is no easy feat when you have been awake for thirty hours.”
