MAASTRICHT. Yesterday 2,735 freshmen registered for the INKOM, the introduction week for first-year students from Maastricht University and Zuyd. That’s more than ever. The Inkom 2015 had 2,360 participants.
“We are sold out”, says INKOM-chair Wim Renders. “The registration was closed Friday evening. Just before the end we reached the maximum. Therefore a few students couldn’t register.” No harm, they are still allowed to join public activities like the Griend festival, the Maastricht Market at the Tapijnkazerne, CultiFest in the Stadspark and the Griend Sportsevent.
The theme of this year's INKOM is 'The Future is Now'. Yesterday, the Inkom was officially opened on the market square with performances by Fabrizio, DJ Enzo Zanetti & MC Will, Waterproof Shampoo and Manuel Broekman & Géza Weisz.
