Mrinal Gupta (19) is a soccer player, but he’s thinking about joining Saurus this year. His Inkom mentors got him really excited about rowing, he tells during the Sports Event at the Griend on Thursday. He came all the way from New Delhi to go study in Maastricht. Well, not all the way from India, because for the last two years he and his family lived in Germany. “I wanted to study International Business (IB) and I really like Maastricht because the IB program here is one of the best. I also like that Dutch people speak English so well. Yet, my plan is to also start learning Dutch soon.
The switch in cultures is going to be his biggest challenge. “In India you would never see an introduction like this. Maybe just one day, but definitely not a week with parties and a sports event like this. Something I forgot for the Inkom? A credit card. I have to pay for everything with cash this week because I haven’t opened a bank account yet, first thing I’ll do next week.”
