New help desk for student organisations

All information about setting up an organisation in one place

MAASTRICHT. How do I sign up with the Chamber of Commerce? Where can we meet with our board? For these and other questions, students who want to set up an association, foundation or club or those who have already done so, can now approach the Student Initiative Helpdesk (SIH). The help desk, which is part of the Student Services Centre, will be officially launched on Thursday.

There is a lot more to setting up a student organisation than just a good idea. How do you apply for a business bank account? Is your organisation eligible for subsidies? It can sometimes be a maze, especially for international students. That is why the Student Services Centre set up the Student Initiative Helpdesk. Co-ordinator Bente Vissel answers the questions herself or she refers the student to the correct department. “There is a lot of knowledge available within the UM, but it is not very clear where to find it,” says Vissel. “With the SIH, we want to bring that information together in one place.”

During the (online) launch next Thursday, students can already talk to experts during an informal drink. “I will be at the library earlier that day where you can pick up a beer to toast from your computer screen.” Register at Launch of the Student Initiative Helpdesk - events - Maastricht University
