MAASTRICHT. Since a few days ago, the city of Maastricht has been offering free Wi-Fi on the Markt, the Onze Lieve Vrouweplein, Amorsplein, Stationsplein and the area around the Health Campus and the Maastricht University Medical Centre in Randwijck. The Wi-Fi network is a trial project until December 2015. The free offer of wireless Internet in Maastricht has been greatly expanded; last year it was only available on and around the Vrijthof.
With this Wi-Fi network, the city council wants to increase the appeal of the city and its squares. It is also a service for foreign guests. They often have a mobile data subscription that is limited to their own country.
The Wi-Fi hotspots are free and accessible by all without a password.
