Until recently, the UM emphasised time and again to leave the IT systems alone. The reason was that the investigations and repairs should not be disturbed. This ban has now been lifted. The central network disks are also accessible again (albeit only with an UM network connection). Files, however, can only be opened in read-only mode, which means that they cannot be edited.
Meanwhile, according to the UM website, more than seven thousand employees and students (counted on 2 January) have already changed their login credentials. Users are urgently requested to change their passwords before Monday, 6 January. Students can do so through the Student Portal. Employees can log in on the UM’s intranet (Log in with your present user name and password. You will then be asked to change your password. Note: do not select the option ‘password recovery’).
