Several Dutch student associations left for Risoul in March for a week of winter sports, including the Maastricht student association Circumflex. About twenty students became unwell during après-ski. They slumped in their legs, started to tremble, rolled their eyes, had amnesia. It also happened to three members of Circumflex. They did not go to the hospital for blood and urine tests.
Soon, stories about drugging started going around. A number of older, suspicious-looking men who didn't drink or dance lingered in the French ski resort's only nightspot. A few students from Leiden even saw that they had "bottles with brown stuff in them" with them.
The first results of the blood test of three students who did have themselves tested now show that there was no GHB in the blood. The lab did find a large amount of alcohol. This is reported by the French Public Prosecution Service. Is drugging completely off the table then? No, only GHB is excluded. Whether other drugs such as cocaine, cannabis or heroin were present in the blood is still under investigation. Those results will come later.
