Nosipho's choice did involve some preliminary work. “When I heard that Anna was going here, I started looking up how the study of International Business in Maastricht is regarded. I was pretty sure I wanted to study that and after reading everything, the choice was quickly made. If Anna had chosen Amsterdam, for example, I wouldn't have gone with her. I really did want to go to Maastricht.”
“I think the city is pretty cool,” 20-year-old Anna complements her friend. She will soon begin studying Digital Society and is acclimating at ease. “I arrived on Sunday and I share a house in Belgium with five others. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to find a room in the city. By the way, I haven't really met my roommates yet and my INKOM group has already broken up as well, which happened pretty quickly. Fortunately, we still have each other.”
Desire to start
Anna is thinking about joining the volleyball club and is also still finding it difficult to put into words her expectations for the time ahead. “I do just feel like starting my studies.”
Nosipho, who did manage to get housing in Maastricht and moved in two weeks ago, is also curious about what awaits her. “I hope that in a few months I will have passed my first exams, met more people and made friends. I'm also going into it with confidence and I won't go all out in student life. At home I was given quite a lot of freedom, so I'm not going to suddenly do all kinds of crazy things now.”
