The previous two editions also did well: last year's amount was 187 thousand euros, in 2023 the participants collected 112 thousand euros. With the new record amount, SFC passes the half-million-euro mark raised for cancer research at MUMC+.
The Maastricht initiative has not gone unnoticed: since 2023, there has also been a Run to Fight Cancer in Nijmegen, also organised by students. Not without success: in total, the Nijmegen SFC has now raised more than 100 thousand euros for research at the Radboud University Medical Center.
