MAASTRICHT. An official moment, last Monday morning, when Jan-Tjitte Meindersma, member of the Executive Board, raised the Pride Flag in Randwyck. The whole month of June it flies in the wind.

June is Pride Month, and in honor of that themed month, a colorful Pride flag was hoisted Monday on the lawn at Universiteitssingel 40, 50. “To honour the visibility, resilience, and contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community,” according to the press release from the Diversity & Inclusivity office.
The Pride flag flies not only on the field, but also at or on several buildings in both Randwyck (including the roof of UNS 50) and in the innercity (tower of the Faculty of Law at Bouillonstraat). With “Rise With Pride” as its motto, the UM community wants to stand "against prejudice and for inclusion, dignity and justice."
