Work is being carried out on the roof of the university building. Due to a (probably) incorrect maneuver, a crane - several meters high - hit the roof, causing marlstone pieces to fall. The sidewalk and street in front of the entrance have been cordoned off by the police. A passerby was hit and has since been taken to the hospital, said UM spokesperson Koen Augustijn.
“It was an incident; there is no further danger,” Augustijn added. “The building remains accessible.” The exact cause is still unknown.
