Even before Letschert became an informateur in The Hague, she made no secret of her political ambitions within her inner circle. She had passed up a ministerial post in the fourth Rutte cabinet because she had just become chair of the UM board and her family was her priority. Moreover, as she made clear in an earlier interview with de Limburger, it had to be a good fit “on a personal and professional level.” She is therefore surprised that she is already being announced in the media as a minister. “No, I can't confirm it yet,” she says. What is clear, however, is that D66 will be given the ministerial post of Education.
