Sofija Cvetkova (20) cannot wait to start her psychology studies at UM, she says during a quiet moment at INKOM last Monday afternoon. The Lithuanian chose Maastricht mainly “for its international character and the high quality of research and education. But I also like Maastricht's location. We are between Belgium and Germany, as a future psychologist I thus have in three countries a good chance of getting a job later on. In Lithuania that’s a lot more difficult, so I don’t think I will go back." She plans to join an honours programme and is already looking forward to her first literature list. Cvetkova is not only ambitious when it comes to studying, but also in the gym: she has been a cheerleader for five years and plans to continue with the sport during her studies as well. And if that was not enough, the first-year student also wants to take up acting. She is going to apply to the student drama society 'Alles is Drama'.
