Simon Wirtz (1995) worked as a junior journalist at Observant in the academic year 2023-2024. Raised in Düren, Germany, he studied European Studies at Maastricht University after grammar school. He took his first steps in journalism in Germany, where he wrote about start-ups, inspiring young people and events along the border for a few newspapers and magazines. For Observant he dived into the world of the Dutch university: from governance and culture to student life. Except outside working hours, during which he can often be found in the city park with his dog.
